    Something is changing

here. And from the way I see it, for the better. Nuclear Abominations

will stop being a webzine and is fiinally going back to the

roots. Actually, the brand new issue of Nuclear Abominations

(born first as a fanzine then become a webzine for several

reasons) is finally planned for early 2002 (January is indicative

although chances are good this time. The printed issue will

contain several interviews which have already been mailed

or have in finishing touches. If everybody is fast enough

(which I hardly doubt due to years of experience) the new

issue might contain interviews with DEAD, INFERIA, HIDEOUS

MANGLEOUS, SCURVY, KARNARIUM, DISLIMB, KAAMOS, PUTREFIED,

CARNAGE, GOREAPHOBIA and GHOULS… nothing is sure anyway

so don’t salivate too much. Also all the material received

from now on, dated past 2000 is gonna be reviewed in that

issue. NA dot com will live on anyway, but here you will find

only old stuff reviewed, either very old collector stuff or

outdated promos. Format will be A4, absolutely xeroxed and

    absolutely underground and diy.

    All for now, see ya,

I have started to review an handful of old demotapes, if you like the idea and want to learn some history just tell me and I’ll continue the row, I have quite some interesting stuff here, but I wanted to start with two of the most fundamental Death Metal bands, read something about SUFFOCATION and CANNIBAL CORPSE’s demos below.

This time it’s important: this webpage is going to be probably close from the 7th of January 2002, due to exhorbitant hosting prices I have been asked by the provider, I have decided to migrate the site elsewhere. Sadly this new provider is very cheap but also fucking slow in activating accounts, emails and many of the atomated processes that should help you do everything with little effort is work 10% of the time. Therefore, not only the webpage but the emails as well won’t probably work for a while, here below is a fucking e-mail address which will work for all the time the site is suspended. Also, you won’t probably get any updates until January becouse I am working full swing on the new printed issue. Wish me good luck and contact me anytime…

PS: I have been listening to AUTOPSY for 8 straight hour today, and now I want to state it clear: AUTOPSY has been and will forever be the first, the best, the most important and most influential band of ALL TIME, all genres included. The genius behind their music is beyond comprehension, all bow and go after their releases, they’re THE GODS. This webpage, the fanzine and my whole musical experience could not have existed without them, so all of them are dedicated to this band which will live forever in my putrid heart

  • VV.AA.: “3 Way Frenzy” tape 2002 s/p

    Tracklist

CRUSHING ORGAN: 1) Gutted and Fucked on the Altar 2) Time Bomb Enema 3) Diseased Ambigamist DEFLESHED BY FLIES 1) Castrated and Mutilated 2) Stabbed to Death 3) Mauled by Bears (Devoured by Vermin) 4) Dispose of the Soul, Devour the Meat 5) Meat Shredder (Dead Meat Mix) 6) Meat Shredder (Still Moving Mix) BIOLICH: 1) Massive Abdominal Compound Frenzy 2) Gradual Comminution of the Nethermost Bilateral Coigne

3 way split from gore-obsessed Death grind bands from New York. All of them are either 1 or 2 piece bands with drum machine, so beware if you have prejudices on automated things. CRUSHING ORGAN is the one-man side project of BIOLICH’ Tom Carey.

DEFLESHED BY FLIES (interesting name indeed: it’s the title of a song by LAST DAYS OF HUMANITY from their split with RAKITIS) is a two piece band, featuring Will of BIOLICH (again) and Adam Rotella, a name which doesn’t sound too alien to my ears. If my memory doesn’t betray me Adam is (or was, at least) the mind behind BLUDGEON and ANAL BIRTH, both ultimate splatter/goregrind abominations, so probably DEFLESHED BY FLIES won’t be about vampires and Vikings either.

About BIOLICH, you have plenty to read in this issue, including a long interview.
  • GOREOPSY (Svk): “Intentional Disfiguration” tape 1999 [demo]

    Tracklist

    1) Intro 2) Intentional Disfiguration 3) Metus Atrox 4) Encapsulated Fresh Meat of Anal Butcher [? Ed.] 5)Diarrhoeatic Bloody orgasm 6) Undiminished Glutton Demands

It has to be said in advance that GOREOPSY heavily use drum machines. I don’t know if you lie this stuff but certainly the music sometimes gets so fast it would be surely interesting to see how a human drummer could handle it. The main of GOREOPSY songs however is composed of sludgy, relentless riffs which drag for minutes, with this kind of toad like bubbly grunts a la CUM/DEMILISH constantly spilling all over like a blood-soaked sheet. I don’t think they really need the faster, grind parts, as they really get the best from these slow, inexorably sluggish ones, but for sure they would gain much from a real drummer, far more than the more solid, aforementioned CUM (now VAMPIRIC MOTIVES). Fpr those who like deep vocals and spectral sludgecore.
  • UNBURIED (USA/Va): “Tortured Remains” tape 1998 [demo]

    DURATA:

    Tracklist

    1) Tortured Remains 2) How You Died 3) Two Faced Murders 4) Abraxas Annihilation (INTEGRITY) 5) Kill

This demo has probably the best splatter fucking cover I have seen so far, I loved it so much I used to hang a poster of this on my wall for quite some time. To those who might concern, UNBURIED is the band where the famous artist Mark Riddick plays bass, a brutish, chunky kind of Death Metal with lots of gore, grinding spasms and shrilling guitar convulsions. Starting with the famous Pinhead quote, the demo is fully packed with music until the very last second. It has to be noted also that the vocal duties have been taken over by a girl, Rebecca, which apart from cupping a bit the microphone to have somewhat deeper vocals, reminds me of Swedish CREMATORY in tonality, which is, you said it, rather impressive. The use of these vocals is interesting, constantly shifting, splitting, rejoining and moving, but the bass slapping tends to go a bit too much on his own universe at times. There is some mid tempo mosh in this Death Metal, lot of groovy mid tempo. Too much groovy mid tempo if you ask my opinion. The riffs, being not SKINLESS tend to grow a bit too danceable, even happy at times. To finish it, this band succeeds in getting something more than average for sure, but the superior quality of the package could be deceptive, while this band is good, it’s not something I would probably listen for a 60 minute full-length. The guitars are rather distorted but since the sound quality could be improved, they results too buzzing at times. Ravenous and competent, but needs some polishing (or filth, depends). INTEGRITY cover in the end. For trivia, there was another Doom/Death band called Unburied from Finland which released a very good demo titled “Veil of Damnation”.
