The kings of damnation and

Satan encrusted Death fucking Metal are back. Again, they bring

forth the best Death Metal in all of our stirring European scene.

What can I add? CENTURIAN rip, kill, slay, crush, grinds you in

a vortex of Chaos, hacked up flesh, blood and twisted magick like

only DEICIDE “Legion” era or old MORBID ANGEL could

do. Musically, something has actually changed from the past with

the line up variation: the addition of another guitar player adds

a consitent depth to the songs, which for the first time also

features some gutwrenching solos in the vein of oldest MORBID

ANGEL (“Rapture” style). The guitarwork is more or less

the one of “Choronzonic Chaos Gods” with some more variations,

adapted to a double work with some curious twists. Drumbeats are

more definite due to a slightly superior production, and while

on one side the double bass sound is a bit too synthetic, it doesn’t

ruin the thing like in the last KRISIUN, aye, regrading KRISIUN,

for those who don’t know CENTURIAN yet, they’re a good cross between

DEICIDE, KRISIUN and some other abstract demonic entity of undefined

name. Cruel, blood drenched savage Death Metal with leg-cracking

vocals and no more than 2 minutes of slow useless parts ah ah…

I also like the band from a lyrical point of view, the texts I

have read still concentrate on Satanism, Chaos, Destruction and

arcane magickal systems (like BLOODSTORM for instance). ZarZax

is an alien God of Chaos much like the ancient ones of Lovecraft

Mythoi although the lyrics sometimes span on ancient Roman depraved

massacres and sacrifices to the glory of Satan as well… too

many references already, definitely, you know it’s my custom ahr

ahr… but well, you have to listen to CENTURIAN before talking…

the package is still high level although I was much more into

the black and white style of the demo/MCD, these computer effects

aren’t too disturbing but are a bit too bright for my dead eyes

uhmm… Hell fires engulf some magical sigil on cover, and the

same fires of god damned rage roar through their bastard music.

That’s Death Metal, cunts.

There are several reasons that make

me state that CENTURIAN is the best of European bands to this

day. They just have the right feeling in everything they do. Their

music is utterly blasphemous, fast, fiercely demonic Brutal Death

Metal the like I haven’t heard for ages. They play as if they

want to wash away the modern trend of performing soft and clean

with fire and cruelty of unadulterated intensity. And they fucking

succeed in it. Yet you can’t really compare them to any other

Death Metal band, if not for a scene-level association. KRISIUN,

old DEICIDE, BELPHEGOR, all wrapped up tight in a projectile of

unreservedly violent Death Metal, make this band stand on par

with bands such as NILE, DIABOLIC, HATE ETERNAL or ANGEL CORPSE.

Just like KRISIUN, this band never seem to stop its escalation

towards the most perverse corners of the Death Metal universe,

just like KRISIUN, they do not care for melody to be pleasing

for a broader crowd. And for those who think Satanist lyrics are

chattels for Black Metal outfits only, I suggest to check out

CENTURIAN’s. CENTURIAN is ultimate, one of the best bands EVER

and I can’t stop to brag how completely pitiless they are. Hyperfast

drumming, cruel vocals (although both vocalist and bass player

have left the band for SEVERE TORTURE, and I can’t yet tell how

good the new singer is), great demoniac lyrics, and an artwork

painted with the blood from the guitar player’s perverse mind,

make up this CD a masterpiece, impossible to ignore. To me, a

classic already.

That’s finally IT! One of the many things CBT have definitely mastered in the genre is layout and graphics, no Gore Grind band that I remember has ever had such clean, classy layout, the guys in CBT are definitely brilliant on this aspect. Moreover Opus(sy) VI has finally got the running time of a real full length, more than twice as long as their previous “Cocktales”. And the music ahhh fresh, rinvigorating Gore fucking Grind. This time, the sounds are even more powerful, the blasts faster, and the vocals completely dehumanized. Remind me of some sort of broken shower, some sort of cross between liquid gargles and insect squirms. Songs still 1 to 2 minutes in length, essential as the grind genre demands, and abysmally lost into a no return trip in the most depraved recesses of sexually diseased Gore. Really not much to add, this is a really classic release which has nothing of anything previously released if not the usual referrals to middle European bands such as UTOPIE, DEAD and such… you heard the thing already too many times I think, so I’ll skip comparison. Humorous titles follow the trail of other Porno bands such as the almighty MEAT SHITS or ANAL CUNT… although the music is far more structured and absolutely NOT Noise core. Even more unhumen than before…

When I listened Cock & Ball Torture for first time ( on “Gore

is your master” a Razorback compilation Cd ), I believed

they perfectly synthetize European approach to porn gore-grind

. “Opussy” is one of the best pure-blooded European

performance for this genre . The Germans trio is able to elevate

a massive sound barrier, maily subordinate to the powerful bass

sound surely beyond the usual tuning ( imagine a railway tractor

) . Each song structure is not very complex, but easily listenable

: though they use ordinary drum patterns , and no more than 3

or 4 riffs in each trax, they obtain an amazing original result

. Vocally they remind me above all their mates Dead and Libido

Airbag with a bit more low fermenting spewing . Lyrics are completely

concerned about sex in all bizarre , delirious and fantastic way

, expressed by some pungent pun jokes ( see the titles inside

) . Besides looking at the artwork we can appreciate their delicious

good porn taste trough some bondage pictures puzzle, assembled

in an excellent layout ( oh yeah ! ) . 21 trax to have a morbid journey into deepest latex perversions orgasm. Extremely recommended!
