It’s always a bit unnerving when the titles on the tracklist don’t correspond to the actual tracks, but this time the xeroxed booklet says 2 songs, and my recorder sign 6… uhmmm.

Anyway what should a gore/death webzine like Nuclear Abominations say about an atmospheric one-man band? I will tell you, I say good. Don’t ask me the reason but sometimes I happen to like this kind of music, in small doses, and especially ONLY when they keep it 100% instrumental. If this promo was made with a computer, it’s really frightening, can really computer music simulate human music so well? The first songs maintain a purely piano/keyoboard wholeness although with some fluted whispers able to create a distant, melanchoilic mood, a taste of years gone by, maybe even medieval… as the disc goes on, electronics spring up more evidently, as do some instruments simulated by some big keyboard I believe. Doesn’t happen often to me to like this stuff, but this is OK, much like ATROPOS (see demos). Together with the electronic component, also come the vocals (sadly), which while perfectly fitting, always cause me a hole in my guts, but anyway, the music keeps on going rather interesting, being not the most proficient in this genre, I’d hazard a resemblance with BLOOD AXIS, although a bit less martial and a bit more classical in feel. Oh well, I am done with words, it’s a CDR so if you’re curious to hear this release, try a few lines at the guy behind the band, address below (nice city name, ah).

This SKINLESS album is incredible, it’s right like having a 50 ton MK1 Abraham tank splintering your ribcage, levelling your entrails and fucking your face with its cannon, the previous one was great but this time it’s like having a match with Tyson on adrenaline knowing you fucked his wife. As compressed and packed as MESSHUGGAH yet with a definite Death Metal soul. Guttural vocals… no wait I think the vocals alone need a better explanation: they’re more of a BROKEN HOPE imprint than old CANNIBAL CORPSE as they’re definitely right out of the throat yet while irrevocably swine, clear cut and dense as the rest of the music. And contrary to many slamming bands, they have a flow which can only be compared to IMPALED or EXHUMED (though it’s just an artifice to explain the music better, no other resemblance I find to those bands). The music flows and kicks you above the ground for 41 fucking minutes of breathtaking intensity. They have a groove beneath all this concreteness which I really can’t identify with precision yet it sucks you in. Pounding, banging Death metal of rarely heard intensity, these bastards have a fragmentation bomb sandwiched between every fucking riff. They get slow and they’re heavy, they get fast, and they’re still heavy. U n I q u e . Packaging follows the first release, same tones of dim white on black with red logo on the left, I think you can mistake the two from a distance, The cover and inner artwork are details of a fake skeleton miniature with a gas mask in a warlike after the war plastic model, which is in tune with the whole release. Like the bands says in the inner sleeve, some of the lyrics are written with the main purpose to entertain and they tell never to take every thing too seriously. Get a beer, enjoy this fucking Death Metal, and go after some pussy. Ah!

1- The Only One Astral Being 2 - ...From the Stars Nyarlathotep 3 - Sub-Human Immortality 4 - Abominations of Ancient Gods 5 - Unnamable Evokation 6 - Inside the Labyrinth of Illusion 7 - Legions from Absu 8 - Royal Demon

Technically refined from the previous full-length, yet always a vorticating storm of steel and leather, SHUB-NIGGURATH’s Final Aeon Cd really struck me at a first listen: It has all the primitive Death Metal energy of VITAL REMAINS’s “Excruvciating Pain” and MORBID ANGEL’s “Altars of Madness” concocted with typical southern states ferocity. The Deqath Metal brought forth by SHUB-NIGGURATH is great for many reasons: it’s untainted by trends, it’s genuine, thrashing and sublime in pure headbanging force, just like older bands in that little transaction between Thrash and Death in the late 80’s, everything reinforced by some atmospheric keyboards (do not get me wrong, these keyboards are mmade to reinforce the idea of open universes, and unfathomable gods of the stars…. faithful to their name, SHUB-NIGGURATHìs lyrics and concept beneath the album brings you in the final years of humanity when the Ancients of Lovecraft mithoi get back to Earth for their blasphemous destruction. There is an introduction in the booklet although since obviously inspired by the moment, is a bit confused as well, but I think I got the overall concept. The music is very brutal, crammed with fucking fast parts and twisted riffs, though forget any late American SUFFO clones, this music is different, higher, and definitely more (agh I hate the name… ) “Metallic”, it rages and bangs like a beast. Contrarily to many modern acts, each of these songs seem very studied and structured, almost 5 minutes each in length, with a fucking string identity, combining pieces of magical arts and thrashing death rage. Killer stuff, but mainly for those who prefers older stuff.

    1 - Feces for Jesus 2 - Blood 3 - Decomposing Bitch 4 - Baptized in Virginal Liquid 5 - Twist the Cross 6 - Butchery of the Soul 7 - Rest in Flames 8 - Severe Torture 9 - Pray for Nothing 10 - Vomiting Christ

The vocals in this disc strike, they’re inhuman. Guttural gargles that seems like a pork emitting despairingly its last gasps for life. Grunting growls that right follow SEVERE TORTURE’s tight, concentrate songs, with dozens of no-nonsense pounding riffs and fast, varied drumming. They’re maybe the fastest deep grumbling band that still keep this kind of intensity. One can easily mistake them for Americans as some of the bridges are definitely SUFFOCATION like, like when they arrest the flowing with stop and go parts and the drummer starts swirling through the brass and skins, and the singer tortures his throat. The band is 100% Bowel Metal, with a savage flesh ripping rage that comes right out of the stomach. Heaps of bones, livers, viscera, sawed limbs and a gnarled muscled brute feasting on it appear on the cover and explains it fucking all the bands wants. Blood. Yours preferably.

This band is unknown to me ; they come from cold Russia and together with their mates Abosranie Bogom ( porngoregrind coprophagist shit-addicted ) demonstrates how extreme death metal is growing-up in this land , even though , there are many economics problems . They play usual U.S. brutal-death , simple to listen and full of gore lyrics . But the main problem is that they completely lack in originality , cause , “Catacomb abttoir” is the perfect mix of old Suffocation/ Dying Fetus/ Pyrexia masterpieces . However they shows us good skills ability and a ferox attitude, so , the songs are quite nice and absolutely never boring. Drums isn’t very complex , but well arranged ; guitar sound is pretty interesting and vocals are common deep growls. Give’em a chance , I’m sure next time they’ll improve their originality !

Gugely, blatantly bootleg, although a very cool one from one of the most ferociously thrashing act of the magical 80’s. I got this one from a friend through mysterious means but probably if you look hard enough you could get your copy as well. The sound on this live Ep is deliciously SARCOFAGO, that is, much like much of the southern-American thrash metal of the time (KORZUS, HOLOCAUSTO, VOLCANO, SEPULTURA, to name a few), very very garage. Maybe it’s just my insanity bu7t I find far more brutality and energy in stuff recorded in this way than in dozen of crystal crisp newbies who spend thousands of dollars to have the definitive sound on a promo cassette, There is nothing really much more to say. The first track is just an intro with winds and apocalyptic noises, and the last 2 tracks are covers, considering “Satanas” also appears twice, you probably have to be a SARCOFAGO fan to swallow this. It’s especially cool to hear the crowd roaring below these 4 to 5 riff songs, and hearing the spoken indtros and the Araya-angel-of-death-era screams to introduce the songs. Very garage, very rough, very fucking intense, but only for aficionados.Ah, this is not a CDR, it’s a relatively pro-release…

Musically they’re good. Fundamentally a Death Metal band with no incredibly powerful riffs yet what gives the whole sound a different level is definitely the double vocals, much like INHUME as both are guttural although this time one is almost like a cross between a cricket and a frog, the other sings with the classic gore grunts. Not overly intricate and not always fast, SANATORIUM is nonetheless OK, they have that mania of putting slow chugga chigga riffs in the music which I find sometimes a bit annoying, and the riffs sometimes sound a bit of reheated soup, but all in all this is OK stuff, higher than average level for sure. Good sound blesses the CD, as does an amazing cover artwork by the genius of Zig. I think this is a CD that one can like, and I liked the band far better on stage, they are really good live actually…
