I know what many (included myself) would say looking at

the cover artwork, this is an EXHUMED ripoff! (Remember the

kitchen cover in “Gore Metal”? And well, the sound

can be broadly be grouped with EXHUMED as well. But. There are

many points when the two bands differ and not only in band pictures

(they seem to be much in the anti-poser/funny mood, you know,

when you have to take idiot pics at all costs, there is a guy

eating a sandwich in the booklet…oh well), indeed SANITY’S

DAWN music in this Cd was supreme: the guitars monstrously distorted,

the vocals (Harmonized+high pitched) cross the verge of madness,

    all in a very Gore-Metal (I won’t call this gore-grind) way,

the music flows smootly and metallish and is enriched by samples,

coughs, burps, squashing noises,.. once you enter the Cd, you’re

sucked in, I swallowed it all in a day, and spinned it for one

week without changing it, I come to say it’s even better than

EXHUMED at times, chaotic, vorticatiing yet so funnily splatter

in the lyrics. It really gets deviated, each song is a Cd per

se, and you can tell each after one listen after the first spin.

Biggest SANITY’S DAWN release, for gore-sucking freaks only.

To be honest Sanity’s Dawn is one of my fave gorgrind band ever

; so it is difficult for me to judge their new release . However

, surely I can say that “Chop Copper” is very different

from their previous releases , and probably this one is not

for all those who loved “Mangled in the meatgrinder”

    their best quality peak !

In other words , it wouldn’t mean that “Chop Copper”

is a bad album , but i consider it as an evolution from goregrind

to grindcore direction, and I hate this kind of progression

( even if the band declare : “More gore more fun”

) . Their sound now , is more clear, higher, and understandable

, while in past was rawer and lower . Besides they’ve stopped

to use burping harmonized gurgled vocals which made them well-known

    to all fans .

In conclusion a great grind release , but forget their old style

: they wouldn’t be no more the same !

I definitely can forgive the band for using the same cover artwork HAEMORRAGE used for a split EP. I can forgive em for having used the same inner artwork that REGURGITATE used for a cover on yet another split EP. I could easlily forgive ’em if the music they played was even farily in the slimy goregrind vein of the two aforementioned bands, but I cannot forgive them for having made me this sleepy. The songs are not just long, but all the 2 of them together seem to last an eternity. To describe this band is not that difficult, they’re not bad, just average, just so damn average they immersed me in that state of semi-letargy I used to fall when confronting the nth average Scandinavian Black Metal band The riffs are a constant, fuzzy buzz that hit your soporific glans but this can be due to a not overly exciting production and sound engineering, I can point at least two spots when CANNIBAL CORPSE and OBITUARY riffs are carbon copied but after all this is just a demo, let’s get it as a good start. But hey, they need some good vitamins to stand on their own feet with so many good bands around.

Wow, there’s nothing to do ! It seems Europe is living a new enthusiastic wave in goregrind. Indeed, after Regurgitate’s brand-new masterpiece, another successful “Sublime” ( in all ways ) band rise upon the most perverted metal Olympus. These French grinders after splitting with Brazilians Rot (other Stakhanovist grind monster band), return to squash your brains with a full-length album, released by Bones Brigade (you know what do you expect from this label) . The excellent package box-set, introduce you to an indecent cover artwork inlay that reminds me something of Nekromantik movie (a pretty girl fucked by a mummified decomposed corpse). By this choice they’ve some censorship delays during the press. However here we find 21 delicious palatable trax title less and without lyrics in their own unique style, marked by a continuous frenzy drumming orgy! Now they don’t have a bass-player, so they use a more distorted rhythmic obsessive guitar to replace it (do you remember Assuck ?) ,and in my opinion it improves the sound effect . Besides Cannibal Gutturalien Seb , gives the usual wonderful gurgles whirlpool sometimes helped by his fellow saw-bones . Each song smells of purulent bloody compulsion which leads your minds to a perpetual insanity . Surely one of the year’s best release.

“If you don’t have it you are a weak blackish fool !”

Fantastic. A uncontainable joy pervades my limbs when I find another band like this who don’t give a fuck about clichès and delves deeper in the abyss of Ultrabrutal Death Metal. Ultimate . ultra-splatter artwork which is grotesque, explicit and crammed with blood and gore. Hyper-low guttural vocals, ultrafast blastbeats and lot of frighteningly compressed riffs, a dry, almost tribal drum sound which blasts all through a continuous spewing of lyrics dealing only with bowels, dismemberments, cannibalism, rape, beating and brutality. Top notch UG release this time, which by far crushes any overly slamming LIVIDITY, ENTORTUREMENT or old Rini-era INTERNAL BLEEDING. The music here blasts your fucking face from the earth, I think I can compare them summarily to other REALLY Brootal bands with capital “B” such as REGURGITATION, BRODEQUIN, DEEDS OF FLESH, DISGORGE (US) or MALIGNANCY. The guitar sound is really like a block of granite moved upon a stone floor, the riffs fast and tight as fuck, the vocals lower than low. There are not many more words one can use to describe SPLETTERED CADAVER, but “Brutal” suits like a glove. Impeccable production, good packaging (although it could have definitely been a bit better), great cover. Possibly one of the best recently signed American Death Bands. Killer.

One of the most unnerving things that hits you immediately in this CD is the vocals, they are so shrill they pierce your nerves, sort of very bad copy of latest DEATH (such as in “Sound of Perseverance”, an album I’d like to forget). Musically, it’s much in the vein of latest melodic Swedish Death bands, the Gotheburg way, such as a very bad copy of first IN FLAMES /DARK TRANQUILLITY / AT THE GATES… but much worse, just don’t catch. There are constant melodies all through the disc, that flow in the background of this shrilling vocals and slightly more-than-averagely-low-tuned guitars, which definitely bring you back to the period of transition when melody was still in embryo within otherwise interesting Death Metal in Sweden. If being not Scandinavian, they could not geentically be able to greate great songs like EUCHARIST, NECROPHOBIC or AT THE GATES I don’t know, but considering that I see this genre with much suspicion, that the vocals are incredibly bad, and the music banal, I would definitely consider giving away this CD for free…. the band features former members of DECREPIT and DECIMATION and at the beginning of their career in 97 was called BLOODSICK (also a split 7″ with NUNSLAUGHTER was released), the wimpish Swedish turn was taken soon after members of APT 213 joined tha band changing the sound altogether which, considering the results…

    1-life hijacker 2- sandstorm 3- …44… 4- stripped humanity 5- half my blood 6- blunted on reality 7- assassins /bonuses 8- flowing under skin 9- F.O.T.C.

Usually when metalheads talks about Sweden , is only to refer to melodic death bands or in the worst case to the latest sensational sympho black metal ones ( puah !!! ) . In fact brutal death or grind are both quite unknown to this land , even if a glorious past has produced some great myths such as Necrony, Regurgitate, Deranged…

Luckyly, now there are Soils Of Fate to revitalize the genre ,in fact they play “ultra guttural blasting sickness” in the American way.

Their previous demo Blood Serology was wonderful, but their debut CD is really a masterpiece ! It contains 5 new songs and 2 old taken from Blood Serology demo’98. Besides after the last track blank space ,there are also 2 bonus tracks , the first still taken from Blood Serology , the other from demo’97 ( so you can get an idea of their all discography ).

According to me “Sandstorm” is the closest things I’ve listen since “Blasphemy made flesh”. In other words we have : fast, intense various drumming with tons of double-bass and stop&go ( but sometimes it sounds a bit artificial too ) ; a sequence of incredibles riffs which alternates fast parts and slow moshing ones ( very similar to Dying Fetus or Internal Bleeding ) ; a bass-player who provides the rhytmic session with his talented work ; and an extremely guttural vocalist in the vein of Matty Way (ex Disgorge ).

Obviously, they don’t lack a certain melodic approach typical of Swedish bands , shown in all guitar solos!

Surely it will satisfy all brutallers around!
