Fucking killer tornado, a dense wall of sonic concrete are this COMATOSE. Pretty new to my ears I admit, they’re damn fucking good. Schizoid and in the perfect thin line between Grind Core and hysteria, the band is fucking fast but the brilliant production makes the good sense thought lyrics crystal clear and rise the whole pack to big levels. The packaging is very good as well, and I am damn pleased to see how the punk idiot poser thing to purposely ruin a 7″ sound to make it cooler escapes this product. If you have the means to do a good product for the same amount of money, there’s no point not to do it. And the guys here have talent. Very much so. Most of the length of this seven they push themselves to blasting speed and scream like demons a very refined kind of fresh Grind and fucking Core. No Metal in here anyway. Thankfully.

NYCHTOPHOBIC (Ger): “Sterility” split 7″ Ep with EXHUMED (USA/Ca) 1998 Revenge
Anyway NYCTOPHOBIC are veterans of the grind core scene as well. I used to put them in the interminable list of DISCHARGE clones a while ago but I admit the continue to mute unremittingly their sound. Grind, absolutely grind, and I might add they got some reminiscence of crusty melodic guitar work but the vocals are so bestial and the sound so compact and clean I wouldn’t consider them on par with DISGUST et similia. Seems as if EXHUMED and NYCHTOPHOBIC somewhat converged towards the same center. Never heard EXHUMED so raw, nor NYCTOPHOBIC so metal. Ahah. Cool.EXHUMED (USA/Ca): “Totally Fucking Dead” split 7″ Ep with NYCHTOPHOBIC (Ger) 1998 Revenge
This is by far the rawest sounding, fastest EXHUMED recording so far. On par with the storm of chopped off limbs that was the “In The Name of Gore” split, though with an even coarser sound. Lots of abrasive screaming and gargling throat grunts assortment for a palatable course of brilliant Death Grind. Masters in their genre.ROID (Ita): s/t 7″ Ep 2000 Eroe Nero
Spending time and money in a accurate layout is not the way to guarantee your music would sound good. Though I have some reserve on the layout as well, the music is so fatigued, drained of all energy, that using the term Hard Core sounds a bit hazardous. The lyrics, in Italian, are the cliché of clichés for an Hardcore band. I am getting sluggish while hearing this. If it’s experimental, I don’t understand it. If it’s Hard Core it’s pretentious. In either case they suck.COMRADES (Ita): “Fuck Jubilaeum” split 7″ with LOS VATICANOS (Ita) 199? Heroine/Valium/Angry records
Things that LOS VATICANOS are not. This band sucks. It’s experimental, discordant one (bad) riff band with vocals which are just feeble. Kinda sludge scummy support stuff you happen to see on the stage before some good band playing. Ah, even a minutes is enough to bore you, let alone a full 3 songs.LOS VATICANOS (Ita): “Fuck Jubilaeum” split 7″ with COMRADES (Ita) 199? Heroine/Valium/Angry records
I am not theoretically against Hard Core. After all much of my musical background is into Hard Core. I find it far more crammed by assholes and machos than Metal but I musically like it when it’s well done. COMRADES plays average HC/Crusty Grind which in big part comes from EXTREME NOISE TERROR, although waaaay more basic and essential. It’s like not ripe enough for being completely grind. But the Lyrics are damn funny as they talk about situations that often happens in the today squats so I happened to like em. Not that I would go out and strangle my fat dog for them. But they’re tolerable.SANITY’S DAWN (Ger): “s/t” 7″ split Ep with EXHUMED (USA/Ca) 2000 Deadly Art
SANITY’S DAWN is much grinder, just think to bring the gore’n’rolling slamming of EXHUMED music towards the goregrind barriers of SQUASH BOWELS and COCK AND BALL TORTURE with relative grinding accelerations and shower drain burps instead of vocals. Last song is a damn great live track took in 1999 with the singer burping and grunting like a dog amidst total chaos. Almost makes u puke in the end. Recommended.
