  • DISGORGE (Aus): “Lazer Burgers” split 7″ Ep with GORE BEYOND NECROPSY (Jap) 1996 Dry Retch

DISGORGE (from Australia) play grind core/grind as well, in the vein of VISCERA though after having faced the GORE BEYOND NECROPSY overdose, this more crusty

approach surfaces evidently, as the songs are pretty clear cut and uncomplicated. Not overly tight nor frightening is you ask me. One note, the EP is limited

to 1000 copies although I have the neat impression my envelope is Xeroxed, and the number on it as well…

  • GORE BEYOND NECROPSY (Jap): “Excrete Your Own Shit!” split 7″ Ep with DISGORGE (Aus) 1996 Dry Retch

That GORE BEYOND NECROPSY is among the ultimate goregrind bands in the east is irrefutable. This 7″ however is quite different from the other releases in

some aspects, while keeping a classy noise/gore/grind approach, it has a cynically conscious lyric approach I always ignored, indulging for 11 songs into how

we’re all controlled by media and such things I have personally seen one million of times ever since NAPALM DEATH debut and other pre-grind bands such as

LARM or GO before that. But then, it’s always good to read something different here and then I assume. Music wise, the GBN side has a very noisy approach to

goregrind, with impossibly low tuned whole I was expecting form the band, though it lacks the fanatical machine drumming and personal twisted composing skill

of the other releases, replaced with some fast mid tempos, and a more simplified American twist, though it’s them, definitely, in the rawest terms…

  • SQUASH BOWELS (Pol) “Grind your Head” split 7″ with DISGORGE (Mex) 1998 Bizarre Leprous

    RECENSORE: Unknown

    VOTO: 9,00/10

As for SQUAH BOWELS, it’s a band with a huge following in the underground gore world, a band that builds songs that are a wall of force of guttural grunts,

an excellent quality of sound (yeah an interesting topic when you’re talking about a gore band), a definite IMPETIGO/DEAD INFECTION influx and a very fair

crusty feel that keeps the whole stuff catchy and fresh. What impresses most is their intense compress sound, which one could compare to HEMDALE, and

schizoid, creative use of vocals from high pitched screms to guttural babbling.

CARCASS, GENERAL SURGERY, EXHUMED, MORTICIAN, NECRONY, all come out clear when you listen to DISGORGE, and then some more. DISGORGE is the Ultimate Gore

Death Grind band bar none. Period. This band shows exactly what was badly needed today that CARCASS is just a memory. A band that could show the shining

world how horrendously diwmembered and massacred could a body be when put under the fine instruments of a mad surgeoun. No limits to the bad taste, DISGORGE

brings you to the depths of anatomical hell. I sorely admit this music sucks you in a vortex of putrefaction hack and slash dementia and surgical

    monstrosities. Killer.

  • CARCASS GRINDER (Jap): “Do you love grind? Pt:2″ split 7” Ep with BIRDFLESH (Swe) 1999 Underground Warder

    RECENSORE: Unknown

    VOTO: 6,00/10

Judging by the name CARCASS GRINDER I expected to be a grind core band which is not exactly correct. Hard Core I’d say, maybe Ultra Core with some low tuned vocals but the guitar, bass and drumming definitely follow the Hard Core school. Extremely basic and straight but definitely nether noisy nor brutal. I’d say well structured HC with shrilling vocals. Average.

BIRFLESH have class. They succeed in standing out of the whole panorama of grind death band with a definitely particular and thoroughly enjoyable between TERRORIZER and a plethora of demented sounds. The inside of this 7″ shows the band raping a lad on a wheelchair, add to that lyrics that are thoroughly brainless (and darn cool for a laugh, i.e. “when I should fix my hair I found no head”, “I ride on my bike with my sword on my back”). Despite the light hearted lyrical and figurative approach the music is a fucking discharge of old grind core and old school Death Metal performed with e very personal feel with a dense, crude, sound which sometimes bring me back to a time where Swedish Death Metal used to be like that. They have indeed a definite retro taste which I dig to the very bone.

Thanks a lot to have included a booklet in French from the very first to the very last word. That suits very well you bastard faggot French people (I could never stand French it sounds damn gay to my ears). We can eye it from as many angels we want. They can’t play, and what they manage to play is shit. Well I’d say shit would be misunderstood for a magazine like this so let’s say it’s not perverted as well. It’s pretentious grind something. But the singer has no voice, the drummer is unable to blast beat and the package is so bare its not even considerable Punk. A waste of wax.
